Magstor Corporation – Public Records

Did you know that corporate records are public documents? If we know that Magstor operated in Westlake Village and it was a corporation, we should be able to find out something about it. Our journey starts here. The California Secretary of State’s Office (SOS) has a search page where you can find out information on businesses and corporations registered in California. If we search for Magstor, we find it, and we find that the corporation is “suspended.” What does suspended mean? The SOS helpfully provides definitions for the fields in its reports: Suspended or Forfeited: ...

Scene of the Crimes – Magstor Operating Address

Magstor corporation, what can we find out about it on the Internet? For a start, let us look for its location. Every time you search you get the same address: 30941 Agoura Rd, Ste 124, Westlake Village, CA 91361 A search of Google maps gives a picture of an office building. Is Magstor still there? Is there any Magstor any more? Ste is the accepted abbreviation for suite, which usually means an office in an office building. This may seem prestigious, or have a certain cachet associated with it. A lot of shady business people with no business address except their homes started using suite on...

Magstor – Who is Karen, and what do we know about her?

If you “sold” anything to Magstor, what did you do? If you were like me you sent your invoice to Karen at the corporate address, 30941 Agoura Rd, Ste 124, Westlake Village, CA 91361. I spoke to Karen, and with the benefit of hindsight I can say she like Dennis Resnik lied to me. Karen told me that they were expecting payment on a big order “soon.” Karen told me that I could deposit the bounced check for the second time as it “should” go through. Once when I called about the bounced check and asked to speak to Karen, someone at Magstor told me I could not...

Yet Another Happy Magstor Customer

The last time we were combing the web for reports of Dennis Resnik, we found out he had ripped off someone in Abington, PA. Further research finds another review for Magstor and Dennis Resnik on Merchant Circle. This time our unlucky victim is in Newport Beach. He chose to report his experience around the same time as our other Merchant Circle reviewer. His comment “Google this loser and see how he’s ripped others off tool” validates our approach here. Yes, let us all Google Dennis Resnik. Every past supplier and every prospective supplier. Let us all find our about Dennis...

Another Happy Magstor Customer

To show that there is promise in this technique of providing feedback via the Internet, here is a review from Merchant Circle. Someone else sold product to Dennis Resnik at Magstor, and didn’t get paid. It has been two years since he ripped me off, and he is still doing it, taking people’s products, selling them, pocketing the money and not paying the supplier. I have to believe that me and this other business man are not the only people ripped off  by Dennis Resnik. It also shows how Dennis Resnik will rip you off wherever you are. This is a complaint from Abington, PA. I am...

It All Begins Here

One day Dennis Resnik called me. I had a tape library listed on eBay, and he had seen it and wondered if we could work out a deal. We haggled a little and agreed on a price $4200. He sold items on eBay too, and had a store called Magstor in Westlake Village. I was to ship the tape library, a Dell PowerVault 136T via truck, but not to his company in California. Instead it was to go to a Michael Resnik in Colorado. I recall receiving a check via UPS Overnight  service, and packed the unit up for shipment. We put the check in the bank and put the library in the back of the truck. We...
